There are no plans, tiers, or add-ons. If you outgrow the free storage or streaming allowances, the overage is measured and billed automatically — and you're emailed before storage overage ever bills.

How the 5% works
When a student buys a course or exam, Chapters earns a flat 5% of that sale — and the total commission is capped at $29 a month, so the more you sell, the smaller our cut. There's no monthly minimum and nothing to pay in a month where you sell nothing.

The 5% is a flat commission on each course or exam sale you make through Chapters — including paid retakes and paid certificates — capped at $29 total per month. It does not apply to your other Shopify products. If you don't sell anything in a given month, there's no commission to pay.
No. There's no per-student, per-seat, or per-enrollment fee. Whether you have ten students or ten thousand, the price is the same: free to install, 5% on sales (capped at $29/month), and automatic usage billing only if you exceed the free allowances (30 GB stored, 300 GB streamed per month).
Every store starts with 30 GB free. If your video library grows past that, the overage is billed automatically at $0.16 per GB per month — delete videos and the charge drops with them. Student streaming works the same way: 300 GB free every month, then $0.08 per GB, measured from actual delivery. You're emailed before any storage overage is ever billed.
Everything is billed through Shopify App charges and appears on your normal Shopify invoice — there's no separate card to add. You approve the free plan once when you install; after that, commission (capped at $29/month) and any measured storage or streaming overage bill automatically. Shopify's own payment processing fees are separate and unchanged.
There's no contract and no lock-in. Because there's no monthly subscription, you only ever pay for sales you make and any storage or streaming you actually use. You can uninstall whenever you like; charges simply end with your final invoice.
When you refund a course or exam order in Shopify, the student's access is revoked automatically and their lesson progress is kept in case they re-enroll. Refunds are managed entirely inside Shopify, right alongside your other orders.
