Video storage
The only thing that ever scales with your library is how much video you store. Streaming for your students is included — they can watch freely.

Every store gets 30 GB of video storage at no cost — enough for many hours of compressed HD lessons — typically one to three full courses. For many creators that's all you'll ever need, and you stay on the free tier indefinitely.

How the 5% works
When a student buys a course or exam, Chapters earns a flat 5% of that sale. The other 95% is yours. There's no monthly minimum and nothing to pay in a month where you sell nothing.

Yes. There's no monthly fee, no setup cost, and no credit card required to install. You get every feature, unlimited courses, and unlimited students from day one. The only time money changes hands is when you make a sale (5%) or if you choose to rent storage beyond the free 30 GB.
The 5% is a flat commission on each course or exam sale you make through Chapters — including paid retakes and paid certificates. It does not apply to your other Shopify products. If you don't sell anything in a given month, there's no commission to pay.
No. There's no per-student, per-seat, or per-enrollment fee. Whether you have ten students or ten thousand, the price is the same: free to install, 5% on sales, and storage only if you exceed the free 30 GB.
Every store starts with 30 GB free. If your video library grows past that, you can add storage in 25 GB blocks at $4 each per month — $0.16 per GB. Everything is billed through Shopify App charges and appears on your normal Shopify invoice — there's no separate card to add. Commission is charged on the sales you make, and any storage add-on is billed monthly. Shopify's own payment processing fees are separate and unchanged.
There's no contract and no lock-in. Because there's no monthly subscription, you only ever pay for sales you make and storage you actually use. You can uninstall whenever you like; any storage add-on simply stops at the end of the cycle.
When you refund a course or exam order in Shopify, the student's access is revoked automatically and their lesson progress is kept in case they re-enroll. Refunds are managed entirely inside Shopify, right alongside your other orders.
